Hello, my name is Julia Kirk.  I grew up in Worthington Indiana until the age of 35 when I moved to Bloomfield.  Both are very small country towns.  I now live in Bloomington Indiana where I work full time at Indiana University and part-time at Home Instead Senior Care as a caregiver.

I have two sons who have always been the light of my life.  I officiated the marriage of my oldest son Kris to his wife Chelsey.  What a great honor, privilege and joy that was. My youngest son Shane is engaged to his longtime girlfriend, Savannah.  They have two beautiful children, my grand-babies, Spencer and Sophia.  All are the light of my life…don’t know what I would do without them.

I have suffered with depression, loneliness, self esteem and acceptance my entire life.  More so after becoming a drug addict for 10 years after the death of my husband.  Thankfully, Jesus found me at the bottom of that pit and put my feet on the Solid Rock.  I now live a life of joy & acceptance because I have found my true identity is in Jesus Christ.

I love to encourage others in who they are through the eyes of Jesus.  I love doing that through Kairos Prison Ministry where I go into the Women’s Prison with a team of volunteers to minister to those who feel hopeless and unloved.  I also do so from speaking at Women’s Retreats.
